Terms and Conditions

Agreement to terms
By using ChefMatch, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. We may update these terms from time to time; we will notify you of material changes where appropriate.
Platform role
ChefMatch is a marketplace that connects chefs with restaurants and businesses. We do not employ chefs. We do not act as an agency. We provide the platform so that:
- •
Businesses can post jobs and select chefs
- •
Chefs can browse jobs, apply using Credits, and get selected
- •
Chefs and businesses can connect directly for work
The contract for work is between the business and the chef. ChefMatch is not a party to that contract. We are not responsible for wages or payments between chefs and restaurants unless we have explicitly agreed to do something different in a separate agreement. We are not responsible for the quality, timing, or conduct of work performed off the platform.
Credits
Credits are a platform feature used by chefs to apply for jobs. Job cost is based on duration: 1 day = 1 Credit, 3 days = 3 Credits, and so on. Credits are reserved when a chef applies and are deducted only if the chef is selected for the job. If the application is rejected or expires without the chef being selected, reserved Credits are released back to the chef's wallet.
Restaurants do not use Credits. Restaurants post jobs, review applications, and hire chefs. Payment for work is between the restaurant and the chef.
Purchased Credits are generally non-refundable except where required by law (for example, under UK consumer rights). ChefMatch may change credit packs, pricing, thresholds, and rules from time to time. We will give you notice before any change applies to you.
User responsibilities
You are responsible for your use of ChefMatch and for the accuracy of the information you provide.
- •
Chefs: you must have the right to work in the UK and to provide the services you offer. You are responsible for your own tax and legal obligations.
- •
Businesses: you are responsible for ensuring that your use of chefs complies with employment and tax law. You are responsible for the safety and conduct of your premises and shifts.
- •
All users: you must keep your account details secure and notify us of any unauthorised use.
Referrals
Chefs may earn free Credits by referring other chefs and restaurants. Reward thresholds (for example, 5 activated chefs = 1 Credit, 2 activated restaurants = 1 Credit) and rules are set out in the platform. Referral rewards are subject to anti-abuse rules. Self-referrals and fake referrals are prohibited. We may withhold or reverse rewards in cases of fraud, fake accounts, or abuse. We may change referral thresholds and rules from time to time.
Duplicate Job
The Duplicate Job feature allows restaurants to copy an existing job to a new date. It is a convenience feature. Duplicated jobs do not carry over prior applications or outcomes. Each duplicated job receives fresh applications.
Cancellations and no-shows
If you need to cancel a confirmed booking, you should do so through the platform as soon as possible. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in restrictions on your account or suspension. We may set out specific cancellation and no-show policies in the platform or by email; those policies form part of these terms.
Reviews and conduct
Users may leave ratings and reviews after a shift. Reviews must be honest and based on your actual experience. You must not use reviews to harass, mislead, or defame anyone. We may remove reviews that breach these terms or our policies. You must treat other users and our staff with respect. Abusive, discriminatory, or illegal behaviour is not permitted and may lead to immediate suspension.
Account suspension and misuse
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if we suspect fraud or misuse, or for other reasons we consider necessary to protect the platform and its users. You must not use ChefMatch for any unlawful purpose or to circumvent our rules. Duplicate or abusive platform behaviour may result in suspension. We may take legal action where appropriate.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChefMatch is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you in connection with these terms and your use of ChefMatch is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of ChefMatch shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
