Trust & Safety

How we help keep the ChefMatch platform safe, transparent, and fair for everyone.

Chef identity and profile verification

We ask chefs to provide accurate profile information and, where we offer it, to complete identity or profile verification. This helps businesses make informed decisions when selecting chefs. We may use third-party checks or documents to verify identity or eligibility to work. Chefs are responsible for keeping their profile and documents up to date.

Business verification

We may verify businesses that use the platform. This can include company details and, where applicable, VAT registration. Verification helps us reduce fraud and gives chefs confidence that they are working with legitimate businesses. We do not guarantee the conduct of any user; verification is one part of building trust on the platform.

Reviews and ratings

After a shift, both chefs and businesses can leave ratings and reviews. Reviews must be honest and based on actual experience. We may remove reviews that breach our terms or policies. Ratings and reviews help the community make better decisions and encourage fair behaviour. We do not edit reviews to favour one side; we do take action when content is abusive, misleading, or in breach of our rules.

Credits and payments

Chefs use Credits to apply for jobs. Credits are reserved on apply and spent only when selected. If not selected, reserved Credits are released. ChefMatch processes Credit purchases securely. Payment for work between chefs and restaurants is direct; ChefMatch does not employ chefs or handle wages. If you have a dispute about Credits or a payment, contact us; we will look into it in line with our terms and policies.

Privacy before selection

Chefs can browse jobs without revealing their full identity or contact details. Businesses see only what they need to decide (e.g. profile, experience, area). Full details are shared only after a chef is selected. This reduces unsolicited contact and helps chefs control who they work with. We do not sell your data to third parties for marketing.

Fair use and abuse prevention

We expect all users to use the platform fairly and in line with our Terms and Conditions. We may suspend or close accounts where we detect misuse, fraud, harassment, or other serious breaches. We may also restrict features or take other action to protect the community. If you see something that does not look right, report it to us. We take reports seriously and will act where appropriate.
